ExpeditionsPlus: This essay is a brief primer on the physical geography of Europe. This is the stage setting on which the history of Europe was performed. Of course it oversimplifies the geography of Europe immensely as each "physiographic region" that I mention below can be further dissected and described just as each country could be separately analyzed. This is a start, though, to give you an overview of the essence of Europe.
