Conversant Admin Help

As the Administrator you are responsible for the look-and-feel of your site. Understanding the various page structures will help you organize how information is formatted for your users.

There are several different types of page structures in Conversant:

  • Advanced Query

  • Bound Message

  • DG Calendar

  • Event Calendar

  • FullThreaded

  • Query

  • Redirect

  • Topics

  • Weblog

  • Weboutline

Advanced Query

The Advanced Query page is the approach Conversant uses to present stored-queries in a highly customizable manner. There are many Message Macros and other options to create a sophisticated display of the record results.

For each page of this type, you may select various options in the Administrator Interface to control how this page displays.

Bound Message

The Bound Message page provides a way to indicate a particular message number and after giving a Path, provide a way to refer to that message using that path.

DG Calendar

The DG Calendar page provides the navigation between days that contain messages and display the messages and some status' information about each message displayed.

The entire look-and-feel of this page is customizable using template items and macros.

Event Calendar

The Event Calendar page provides a way to create, repeat, and edit events. You may also assign categories for grouping purposes. When a user displays this type of page, you can provide filters to hide or show as many of the events as needed.

FullThreaded

The FullThreaded page provides a way to display all related messages in a hierarchical or flat appearance.

Query

The Query page provides a way to display a user-definable display for ad-hoc searching, sorting, and retrieval of messages.

Redirect

The Redirect page provides a way to reorganize Paths and the contents of those paths and users will automatically sent to the new paths when requesting the old one.

Topics

The Topics page provides a way to display the top-level messages such as a Table of Contents.

The entire look-and-feel of this page is customizable using template items and macros.

Weblog

The Topics page provides a way to display individual message items of interest on a per-day basis. After messages are entered users with this access right may post messages to the particular weblog.

Weboutline

The Weboutline page provides a way to display the contents of a member's folder if you have enabled that feature for them.
