Event Calendar Admin's Manual
If you're not already there, go to your calendar's attributes editor. For example, if your calendar is at the root level of your site:
"/yourSite/admin/conversations/yourSite/structure$path=yourSite%2FyourCalendar
If it's deeper, open the Structure Window, and navigate from there.
Calendar Properties Editor
The calendar properties screen has seven sections:
- General Attributes
- Calendar Attributes
- Month View
- Week View
- Day View
- Event Views
- Filters Box
These attributes are common to every Conversant Page Type. As for any other page or folder, they control the location and name of the calendar, the template, stylesheet, javascript and magicNavbars it uses. Nothing new, here.
These attributes are specific to the Calendar Page Type.
Description
Use this field to enter any comment. If you manage several calendars, that may help to distinguish them. This text won't appear in any rendered page. It's for you eyes only, in this page only.

This allows you to define who is or are the Editors of this calendar. Editors can create/edit/delete any event in the calendar, including those they didn't create (for more infos on access levels, see the User's Manual).
You may keep this field empty, you may enter the username of the person you choose as Editor, or the name of the group of members to grant as Editors (see Managing Member Groups for more infos on this topic).

This allows you to define who is or are the Contributors of this calendar. Contributors can create/edit/delete their own messages only. (for more infos on access levels, see the User's Manual).
To make Contributor one person or a group of members, check the first radio button and enter the username or the group name in the text field (see Managing Member Groups for more infos on this topic).
To allow every member of the conversation to a Contributor, check the "All Members" radio button. The content of the text field is then ignored.
Calendar Timezone
This is the timezone in which the calendar lives. Every user of the calendar will see dates and times in this timezone.
Cache Length
The number of months in the future that are cached (historical events are always cached).
Categories
This link allows you to manage category groups and categories in this calendar.
Categories are kind of flags that can be attached to events, and that can be displayed as icons or as colored backgrounds. Categories are very useful when displaying events, as they give a visual clue on the event, and as the views can be filtered in any ways to display or not such or such category.
Managing categories will be covered in details in Managing Categories.
